Tuusniemi

Rotkolaakso is a gorge was formed millions of years ago and honed in its present shape by the last ice age 10,000 years ago. The valley is 500 meters long and 40 to 50 meters wide. In many places the valley is ringed with 25 meter high steep, almost vertical rock. At the bottom of the gorge a creek is running into a beautiful small lake.
Around the gorge a 2.5 km long trail is marked which leads you through an undisturbed area of natural beauty. From the gorge you can also follow a trail to Kaavin koski and Ahvenlampi (20 km).
There are several facilities such as information boards a toilet and a half open fireplace (laavu).
